The West Coast National Park is about an hour and a half drive north of Cape Town and the most northern stretch of the park called Postberg is only open to visitors during the spring months of August and September. (It’s worth leaving home very early to avoid long queues at the entrance gates if you’re visiting during the weekend in the flower season.)
Spectacular, breathtaking, gorgeous. The flower season is all that and more. The yellow flower carpets are postcard perfect…
as is the ocean view…
the lagoon at Kraalbaai…
and at Langebaan.
The scorpion we saw when we wanted to sit down to picnic was breathtaking as well, although in a very different way, to say the least.
